A friend in Switzerland sent me pictures of Easter in St. Gallen (where I used to live) with snow on the blooming trees. I wanted to share a little of beautiful Virginia on Easter weekend.
Yesterday we took another stroll in Green Springs Garden on Braddock Road to see what was blooming and I am now lusting after some new perrenials for my little patch of Garden Heaven.
This is a fragrant deciduous azalea I've never seen before. It's called Coleman's Early Yellow and what a gorgeous color it is. I spotted it across a wide lawn and had to go check it out. What a treat to find it fragrant as well. I've already located a source to order one. All I have to do is find the perfect spot for it.
Green Spring has a series of "garden rooms" and I fell for this one featuring a tiny pool with a delightfully fragrant
Korean Spice Viburnum overhanging the pool. How sweet that there was a bench under the tree where one could sit and breathe in the fragrance.
Here is a close up of the flower which becomes berries later in the season. It's on my BUY list!
Well, there was much more but I am learning a new computer - an iMac - and it's like blogging in a foreign language. Please be patient with me.
