And it’s coming along nicely! You saw Holger’s nearly finished costume in a prior post. Now here is Starr’s gown. I am there as Consultant to boost confidence, pin hems, hand stitch and generally help with those fitting problems that need more than two hands. Also, I take the occasional picture. The bodice sleeves will be added next and, for the moment, the stomacher trim is just pinned on. The bodice will also snap or hook to the skirt for a smoother line. After book club Friday we will scout Zurich for a corset. (We may have to hit a sex shop to find one but I hope the notions store will have what we need.) Here are last year’s costumes.
I’d say this historical costume is a major step forward. Starr’s London sewing classes are paying off. I’m planning to join her next summer for the tailoring class.
Purchased wigs are styled and ready but masks are yet to be covered and trimmed. Further accessories are in the works. A capelet for February weather and a vintage fur muff will add both warmth and glamour. Perhaps some jewels? Hmmmm! What else could be missing?
K Q;-)
Fabulous! Starr is so lucky to have you to help. Are you going in costume, too? Or just as your lovely self?

That is quite a dress. Merits its very own dress form for permanent display.
